Ok, some personal questions…
Do you have a worrying number of ASOS bags secreted under your bed?
Did you bulk buy enough candles from the Space NK sale to illuminate next year’s Cathedral carol service?
Has your bank manager queried the large amount debited monthly by Majestic Wines? #theshame
Did you promise your children a (£££’s) trip to Legoland on the next inset day, if they would JUST STOP BLOODY HITTING EACH OTHER IN THE CAR, FFS?!
Is the Ocado delivery man saved into your contacts book. ‘Sorry I’ve got to take this call, it’s Brian in the Lemon Van – he’s early!’
Do you get so many solicitous emails from Johnnie Boden you’re half expecting one day to find him pressed up against your patio window with his (red) trousers at half mast?
Yep. Thought so.
You probably already know that you spend most of your shopping time online and perhaps even most of your actual time online (click-a-holic?) BUT did you know you could get money off every time you bought something online from all of the above and more?
I only discovered this a couple of days ago and it appears to be a bit of a gamechanger.
TV presenter Kate Thornton has launched a new online shopping platform TBSeen offering cashback and special deals with pretty much every high street and online brand you’ve ever heard of. All areas are covered, from food and groceries to fashion and beauty and health and fitness, all the way down to your utility bills, car insurance, holidays, flights and mobile phone providers.
TBSeen is fronted and curated by Kate and a group of mates from the world of TV and pop; Myleene Klass, Tamzin Outhwaite, Lisa Faulkner, Amanda Byram, Heidi Range, Denise Van Outen, Nicole Appleton, Melanie Blatt, Natalie Appleton, Shaznay Lewis and Benidorm’s Julie Graham.
As well as money off deals, there’s also plenty of exclusive vlogs, interviews and tutorials with all of the celebs above PLUS a crack squad of stylists, hair, make up & fitness gurus on hand to advise and inspire. The video snippets have a fun, chatty tone, a bit like eavesdropping on a gang of girls dishing the dirt, for instance this kitchen table discussion where we find out exactly how often Myleene changes her knickers! :-0
Another nice angle to this, is although anyone can sign up and snag a bargain, the site is an enterprise run by women, for women, featuring women and the overall focus is on positively engaging women. They even managed to get supermodel turned photographer Helena Christensen on board to shoot the press campaign because she was so impressed with the ethos of female empowerment.
I’ve listed some of the brands involved below. But tbh you really need to go and have a look yourself because my hands started to hurt typing them all out. It’s probably quicker to mention which brands AREN’T signed up. So far this only seems to be H&M, M&S and Topshop, although Topman are in there so perhaps this can’t be far behind?
It’s not just high street giants either. There are plenty of unique and boutique names in there, most excitingly Liberty, ASOS (I know!!!) and …Cult Beauty! **THIS IS NOT A DRILL PEOPLE!** You can finally justify getting that Mae Lindstrom Blue Cocoon Balm because now you’ll get up to 6.5% off!
There’s no subscription fee, you just register with your bank details and provided you click through to the shop of your choice via the TBSeen website it will record your purchase and calculate the amount of money you’ve earned which is then deposited back into your account. Sweet!
Here’s the list. Read it and weep. Weep for your future salary. Weep for all the money you spent at Christmas before this was launched.
