Peasant or Floral?

The two big hits of the summer: step forward the Peasant dress and yes you, Floral, are unusual only in that they have persisted in sticking around for Autumn. Despite being thin and floaty and reminding you of sunnier days. *sigh*

ottolineThe floral thing really kicked off when TopShop launched their A/W Unique catwalk range with Ottoline silk floral dress, which sold out after being spotted on Alexa Chung and Plum Sykes and the like but which you can still get on Net a Porter in the States if you’re really keen.

The peasant stuff is probably something to do with all the love for Ukranian embroidery ‘Vyshyvanka’ dresses which are beautiful but also very costly. (Fair enough due to the highly skilled artisanal wotsit, though.)

However, I’ve found some cheaper options. Am really toying with the idea of the orange one, what do you think. I like it in the photos but might it be ‘a bit much’ in the flesh. Hmm. Thoughts please.

Have you got a Autumn / Winter floral or a peasant?

And if so, where did you get it? Go on, spill the beans!
